When you hire a REALTOR, you look for one that you can trust, with the necessary skills and qualifications, and who you know will work hard to get the job done right. It's much like hiring an employee. You wouldn't hire an employee without first collecting an application and conducting an interview, so let me introduce myself...
My REALTOR Pledge
I am a full service, licensed real estate broker with Oakridge Realtors, a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Graduate of the REALTOR Institute (GRI), an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), and a member of the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Board of Realtors. I specialize in working with first-time home buyers and sellers, although I have listed and sold everything from investment properties to new construction in the Cedar Valley.
Your business is very important to me, and I pledge complete honesty and commitment to you as we work together to either sell your home or find you a new one. I take pride in a job well done, and as a result, you can trust me to market your home with the care and attention to detail that I would take in my own.

My Background and Education
I grew up in the hills of Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of a self-employed veterinarian. After graduating from high school, I started my college career at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. After a two year hiatus, during which I volunteered for the U.S. Forest Service and served as an office manager for a wholesale greenhouse, I finished my formal education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. I started college with a double major in Communication Arts - Radio, TV, Film Production and Women's Studies at UW-Madison. I graduated from UNI summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Economics.
Since receiving my real estate license, I have completed over 200 hours of post-license education, including the following courses: Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) 200 Business Planning and Marketing, CRS 201 Listing Strategies, CRS 210 Building Referrals, Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Listing & Buying Practices: The Basics, Pricing It Right: Detailed CMA, Value-Added Selling, Developing Professionalism and Ethics, Federal and State Laws in Real Estate, The Negotiation Process, Pre-Broker License Education
My Work Experience
I worked for over three years at the UNI Regional Business Center as the Program Manager for Business Technology. I have also operated a web consulting business from my home, doing HTML coding, graphic design, and system testing.
Since moving to Iowa in 1998, I've also held these positions:
- School Bus Driver, Cedar Falls Community Schools
- Consultant, Dyton Media
- Office Manager, Krieger Greenhouses
- Server, Brown Bottle and Mainly Lou's
- Cook, Montage
My Interests
From music to travel, gardening to the outdoors, my interests and hobbies are as varied as the seasons in Iowa. I've always had an active interest in music and the arts. I began with the violin, continued with choirs, and picked up the guitar for fun.
My musical tastes include bluegrass, folk, celtic, international, rock/pop, and classical. KUNI night music keeps my alternative tendencies alive, and the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center satisfies my itch for big-city performers.
Growing up near the mountains, I developed a love for the outdoors. Luckily, the Cedar Valley keeps me involved in biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking, and gardening. The bike trails are second to none, the local rivers and lakes provide ample opportunity for getting on the water, and my vegetables thrive every summer in the rich Iowa soil. The most recent addition to my portfolio of outdoor adventures is scuba diving. Coral reef, anyone?
My travels have taken me across the United States, into Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Netherlands Antilles and overseas to England and Spain. Those experiences have given me tremendous perspective on people, cultural differences, and basic street smarts.
